During construction, the contractor submitted a $50 million claim against the City. The City has determined that it is necessary to retain a constructions claims and litigation consultant and expert witness to perform services for this claim.

Project Description: The Work under this contract is to purchase and installation of all pertinent equipment, and construction for Hybrid MRI/IR Rooms and their supporting rooms in Surgery area of Hospital’s Basement 1 Level. The scope of work involves partitions, ceilings, floors, dampening columns, electrical, low voltage and telecommunication, mechanical, plumbing, medical gas hookup, fire alarm and fire sprinkler (including VESDA) alterations, hazardous materials (lead) abatement, radio frequency and magnetic shielding, and construction barriers as noted in the specifications and drawings. This work is to be reviewed by the Office of Statewide Hospital Planning and Development (OSHPD).

California Men’s Colony Health Care Facility Improvement and West Facility. Emergency Generation System Upgrade

Project Description: The Work Sites are located on California State Prison property at California Men’s Colony (CMC) in San Luis Obispo. The health care facility Improvement includes the construction of a new East Facility Primary Care Clinic and Health Care Administration, an New Pharmacy and Laboratory Building, New East Facility Administrative Segregation Unit (ASU) Primary Care and ASU-EOP Mental Health Clinic. The total area of work is 11,000 square feet. The project is LEED silver. The project also includes an upgrade of the Emergency Power Generator System.

Alteration at Warm Springs Elementary School

Project Description: This project included associated architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, sheet metal, electrical, resinous flooring, concrete and painting work. In general the work involves repair and re roofing of buildings, replacing and adding HVAC units, remodeling existing and adding site restrooms to meet ADA requirements, an accessible ramp and concrete apron offset sideway with new passenger loading zone, provision of a new campus wide fire alarm system, upgrade to the site emergency lighting and provision of backup emergency lighting for interior assembly areas, and new electrical service and switchgear for the site.
